See All ReviewsI was really hoping for a solid meal, but Barbecue Hernandez fell pretty short of expectations. First off, the name itself is a bit misleading. You see "Barbecue" in the title and expect a true BBQ lineup, but the only thing on the menu even remotely related to barbecue was the grilled chicken. As for the food, it was a mixed bag: The Grilled Chicken: Flavor-wise, it actually tasted good and had decent seasoning, but texturally, it was as dry as a leather shoe. The Barbacoa: It had a really odd, off-putting flavor that just didn't hit the mark for what a good barbacoa should taste like. If I was just going for sides the rice and beans killed it though. The Dessert: Honestly, it was horrible. It was bad enough that I couldn't even finish it and actually threw it away. Between the misleading name and the execution of the food, it's safe to say this was a disappointing visit.
So this is definitely a To go spot. The Chicken is amazing. Super fresh! Really affordable too! I had my food within 5 mins of my original order. Don’t sleep on this place!
Chicken is the best very authentic, you can get whole chicken or half chicken. A whole chicken can feed up to 4 adults since we are 6 in my family I get a whole and a half chicken Rice and Beans are good as well and the whole grilled onion is awesome the price is reasonable for the quality of the food.
